Well, would you? Probably not, unless you lost a bet or need to as part of a fraternity hazing ritual. Not that I would have firsthand knowledge of such things.
So, we ask the obvious question: Why not?
Sure, it’s cheaper to do so, but at the end of the day, you aren’t a dentist.
You’ll gladly outsource this procedure to the pros, because this is what they do. Day in, day out. They’re trained. They’re skilled. And their business is to give you better teeth.
The same principle applies to trying to be funny.
This wired piece fully illustrates the folly of politicians trying to be comedians on Twitter. You see these “jokes”, and only one word comes to mind – SAD!
If they had a comedian on staff feeding them material, chances are these jokes would stick and be the talk of the town. Instead, they have a Twitter audience of people who look like they just got back from a screening of “You don’t mess with the Zohan.”
So, do you need to be funny for an upcoming event? If so, let a comedian take you home. Otherwise, you may subject your audience to the feeling of…an actual root canal.
